Journal of Business, Innovation, and Business Economics (JBIJBE) implements a rigorous, transparent, and fair peer-review process to ensure the publication of high-quality, original, and academically valuable manuscripts. All submitted articles undergo a double-blind peer-review process, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review procedure.
The peer-review process in JBIJBE consists of the following stages:
1. Initial Editorial Screening
Upon submission, the editorial team conducts a preliminary evaluation to ensure that:
- The manuscript aligns with the journal’s scope and focus
- The submission meets academic writing standards
- The manuscript is free from plagiarism (similarity check)
- Basic formatting and structure comply with journal guidelines
Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be desk-rejected or returned for revision before peer review.
2. Double-Blind Peer Review
IJED adopts a double-blind peer review system, where:
- The identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential
- Each manuscript is evaluated objectively based on its academic merit
- The manuscript is assigned to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.
3. Review Evaluation Criteria
Reviewers assess the manuscript based on:
- Originality and novelty of the research
- Relevance to economics and development studies
- Methodological rigor and validity
- Clarity of analysis and argumentation
- Contribution to theory, policy, or practice
- Quality of writing and organization
Based on their evaluation, reviewers provide one of the following recommendations:
- Accept without revision
- Minor revisions required
- Major revisions required
- Reject
Reviewers also provide detailed comments and constructive feedback to improve the manuscript.
Authors are required to revise their manuscript in line with reviewer comments and submit:
- A revised version of the manuscript
- A response-to-reviewers document explaining how comments have been addressed
Revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers for further evaluation if necessary.
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on:
- Reviewers’ recommendations
- Quality of revisions
- Overall contribution to the field
The final decision will be one of: acceptance, further revision, or rejection.
Accepted manuscripts proceed to:
- Copyediting and proofreading
- Layout and formatting
- Final publication in the journal issue
IJED is committed to an efficient review process:
- Initial screening: 3–7 days
- Peer review process: 2–4 weeks
- Final decision: 4–6 weeks after submission
JBIJBE adheres to strict publication ethics:
- Confidentiality of manuscripts
- Objectivity and fairness in review
- Avoidance of conflicts of interest
- Zero tolerance for plagiarism and unethical practices
